"It is only by combing the information by all the earth sciences that we can hope to determine "truth", that is to say, to find the picture that sets out all the known facts in the best arrangement and that therefore has the highest degree of probability"
Alfred L. Wegener in "The Origins of Continents and Oceans"
Talmora Diamond Inc. is a junior exploration company holding four prospecting permits covering 113,758.28 hectares in the Horton River area located south of the the Hamlet of Paulatuk in the Northwest Territories of Canada.
Talmora Diamond Inc. has been exploring for diamonds in the NWT since 2004. The Horton project area is located within the Lena West diamond region which is underlain by the Mackenzie Craton. Between 2004 and 2017 the company identified over 40 high resolution airborne magnetic anomalies with characteristics of kimberlite pipes that are associated with kimberlite indicator mineral (KIM) anomalies. These targets are comparable in size to those found in the Lac de Gras area.
Project potential significantly changed during the fall of 2017. A discovery was made by the company during assessment file research of a large “New” magnetic target with associated KIM and ICP geochemical glacial train anomalies. This "New" anomaly is comparable in size to some of the largest known kimberlites in the world.
It was recently recognised that the super‐deep mantle environment (~660km depth) is the source of the world’s biggest diamonds (such as the Koh‐I‐Noor, Cullinan, Hope, ..etc..). Mn-ilmentites with primary textures that were recovered from Talmora packsack drill cuttings and those down-ice of the "New" target have Super‐Deep diamond inclusion chemistry indicating these targets have the potential for hosting large super‐deep diamonds.
The Horton project has over 40 targets ready for drilling. Talmora Diamond Inc. entered into an option agreement on July 6th 2018 with Olivut Resources Ltd. to carry out a drill testing program of key targets.
